Foundation Receives 40 Grant Applications and Awards Funding to 34 of Them

The Fergus Falls 544 Education Foundation awarded over $60,000 in grants to the Fergus Falls School District at its October 8th board meeting. The grants awarded are as follows:
$86.48 for a set of portable soccer goals for the Lincoln School playground
$99.99 for a mini sensory trampoline bounce board for the Special Education Resource Room at Lincoln School
$141.07 for recycling bins at the Area Learning Center
$269.80 for STEM activities for a Special Education Classroom at Kennedy Secondary School
$421.78 for compasses for the 5th Grade Prairie Science Classes
$500 for backpacks for the Otter Closet
$514.64 for “Keepy Uppy” balls for the McKinley Physical Education Classes
$518.94 for an iPad and Apple pencil for the Kennedy Secondary School Science Department
$564.47 for a storage cabinet, balance beam and sensory wall for the Early Childhood Special Education Classroom at Lincoln School
$583.72 for sensory activities and equipment for the Occupational Therapy Department
$650 for a 3D fiber art project connecting 1st and 7th graders
$711.64 for a practical math curriculum for the Area Learning Center
$728.97 for a track saw for the Construction Trades Program
$759.89 for adaptive instruments for the Middle School General Music Class
$800 for 2 multi-purpose camera lenses for the Desktop Publishing/Yearbook Class
$878 for a rod oven for the Welding Program
$1200 for supplies to build six picnic tables for the Middle School
$1,318.58 for Developmental Adapted Physical Education (DAPE) equipment for McKinley School
$1,328.38 for two mobile 3-panel room dividers for the Occupational Therapy Department
$1,350 for an Apple MacBook Air and accessories for the Music Department
$1,495.75 for adaptive switch-activated toys for the elementary Special Education Department
$2,033.95 for the 3rd Grade Junior Great Books curriculum for the Talent Development Program
$2,100 for rigging safety inspections and required repairs in the Kennedy Secondary School Auditorium
$2,234.91 for sensory equipment for the Occupational Therapy Department at Cleveland
$2,435 for the Blu Track Force and Motion STEM Kit for 8th Grade Science Classes
$2,537.25 for 22 reusable, outdoor learning kits for the classes at Lincoln School
$2,969.95 for a washer and dryer for special education students at Kennedy Secondary School
$3,000 to establish an Assistive Technology Lending Library for Speech-Language Pathologists and Special Education Professionals across the district
$3,061.74 for a SMART Board for the Speech-Language Department at Lincoln School
$3,259.75 for STEM activities for the STEM Room at Lincoln School
$3,953 for a 6th grade field trip to the MN History Center, the Science Museum of MN and the State Capitol Building
$4,245 for a student-led mural project on the Kennedy Secondary School campus
$5,400 for dresses for the top music groups in band, choir and orchestra
$8,069.25 for age-appropriate marching and pep band percussion instruments for the Middle School Band Program
